In 2024, we are excited to announce the strategic merger of Suncrest Hospice and Brighton Hospice. The complementary organizations with deep roots in our communities establish a national footprint of over 50 offices in 24 states, making us one of the largest privately held hospice companies in the United States. This change also provides an opportunity for the founders of Brighton and Suncrest to work together again!

Sometimes, history repeats itself in the best way possible.

Take a look at where we’ve been, and where we’re going.

From 2006 through 2010 Tyler Godfrey and Scott Perucca worked together with Erin Bennett and Thomas Godfrey at a Utah based hospice. In 2011, Scott and Tyler formed Suncrest Hospice, which now operates in 12 states serving over 3,100 patients. During that time, Thomas and Erin founded Brighton Hospice which now operates in 12 states serving over 1,300 patients.

Now, 15 years later, Erin, Tyler, Thomas, and Scott join forces again in hospice. Their shared values of putting patients first will be a common thread binding the teams together.

Over the next few months, we will align our Utah-based home offices to maximize the strengths of the combined teams. We will keep the respective names Brighton Hospice and Suncrest Hospice in each established market as these brands are recognized and celebrated in the communities they serve.

Together Brighton and Suncrest will achieve synergies that would be unobtainable independently. By combining Brighton’s Home Team and Suncrest’s Service Center, we can provide greater support to our teams resulting in even better patient care.

A Message from our Founders

We hope you share our excitement for the opportunities ahead.  We commit to make this merger process smooth and seamless.  You should expect the same great support you currently receive during the integration process this next year.

Thank you for all you have done to make this combined company great. It is a privilege to work with each of you!

Sincerely,
Tyler, Erin, Thomas, and Scott

Will Suncrest Hospice or Brighton Hospice be changing names?

  • Each existing office will keep their respective names as either Brighton Hospice or Suncrest Hospice. What is the purpose of the merge between these companies?

  • Together Brighton and Suncrest will achieve synergies that would be unobtainable independently. This merger strengthens our position in the hospice market by broadening our customer base and creating synergies to support 54 operations in 24 states. We are bringing together two purpose-driven organizations to deliver more complete and superior service to employees, communities and our patients by improving access to combined systems, strategies and leadership.

What synergies are anticipated?

  • Suncrest’s headquarters is called the “Service Center” based out of Salt Lake City, Utah. Brighton’s headquarters is called the “Home Team” based out of Salt Lake City, Utah. The Service Center and Home Team will integrate in January of 2024. This integration will allow for even greater support to our team members and our patients nationwide.
